About Me
ABOUT ME
Things I like: I prefer winter to summer, enjoy beer gardens in the sun, zoo's, talking to strangers, spontaneity, fancy dress, special occasions, swimming in lakes, live music, feeling free, natural history museums, getting away from it all, laughing hysterically, cooking for people, listening to stories, magazines in Sunday papers, surprises, wrapping up warm and small fluffy animals!
Things I don't like: computers, being lazy, rudeness, hangovers, jellyfish!, dark water and being bored.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Each life affects the other and the other affects the next.
Life is like riding a bicycle to keep your balance, you must keep moving.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have hosted a few people and I love hosting :) It is nice being able to do people a favour and I like meeting new people who are up for a laugh and friendly :)
One thing I will say is that I don't agree with couch surfing as a method of 'meeting girls or meeting boys'. It is a website designed for travelers to meet and stay with other travelers and it is important that it stays that way.
Currently I am only hosting women/couples. I have recently been getting a lot of messages from solo guys and some made me feel uncomfortable so I have decided to take this decision. I agree its not entirely in the spirit of couchsurfing, but its better than not hosting at all.
Interests
I tend to spend my spare time either being with friends, cycling, reading, packrafting, camping and occasional ice skating :D I'm quite interested in adventure stories and the majority of the books I read lie somewhere along those lines.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like any book by Mitch Albom and throughly loved The Book of Qualities by Ruth Gendler which I ended up reading four times in a row!. I like books which make you think and challenge the way you see things, on the other hand I enjoy funny books as well. :D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in a tent in Wales. It flooded....often.
Climbing a 6000m peak in Bolivia.
Cycling across Australia
Cycling from Indonesia to Kathmandu
Hiking N-S Iceland
Atttempting to paddle the length of Bangladesh.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm generally quite energetic so I can share my energy and would be more than willing to meet up and show someone round the city or trying out something new.
