Hi everyone! My name is Alice, and I am 26. I recently graduated in foreign languages, and now I am doing a master's degree in Language Sciences.
I consider myself as an open-minded and very adventurous person, especially because I've been travelling a lot since I was born and liked every place I have visited so far.
I left home when I was 18 and, since then, I've been living in many different places with different people. In 2018 I did an Erasmus in Canterbury (UK), in which I lived for about 9 months since my aim is to become an English teacher and work all around the world. Then, from February to June 2020 I lived in Córdoba (Spain) to improve my Spanish and travel as much as possible through this beautiful country. In the month of July, 2021 I walked the whole Camino de Santiago, from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Muxia and Finisterre! Now, I'm working as an Au Pair in Washington DC, in the USA.
My dream has always been the same: nothing will ever stop me, I want to explore the whole world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A part from travelling the world (which is quite obvious :D) I am here because I want to discover new cultures and meet people from all over the world. I'm very interested in the variety of the ways of living that every country can offer, and immerse myself in each different culture. I like to try new lifestyles (I hate having always the same routine!), foods (I literally eat every type of food!) and learning the language of the country that I am visiting.

Interests

My greatest passions are travelling, taking lots of pictures and pretend to be a good photographer....
Also, I love running (marathons), I practice football freestyle and martial arts (especially kick boxing) and I like spending lots of time reading books and writing stories about everything that goes through my mind.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't think I have a favourite kind of music... usually I listen to a very wide variety of songs, from pop to rap, from classical music to Italian and foreign music.
My favourites movies are Sweeney Todd, Titanic, Les choristes, Preferisco il paradiso. Also, I am quite obsessed with both the manga and the anime Hunter x Hunter.
Talking about books... well, I don't have a favourite genre, even though I‘m not very keen on reading romance novels...
Usually I read a lot of books in foreign languages, especially English and Spanish, but I also try other languages (with lots of patience...).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to remember that time in China when I went to a very particular restaurant and I ate fried worms and grasshoppers... They tasted really good!
Another crazy thing I've done is crossing an extremely high bridge in Spain, which was closed to the public many years ago because it is considered too dangerous and sadly many people died there. I probably should not have told you that, since it was an illegal thing to do...
Lastly, I walked the whole Camino de Santiago, from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Muxia and Finisterre, which is about 930 km! I consider it as the greatest experience of my life.

I can teach you both Italian language and culture during my visit if you want, and you can teach me your native-language! Also, I want to know the culture and lifestyle of your country and try your food, so you can share them with me if you want. I will try my best as a guest!
