About Me

I'm an aspiring explorer. I love learning new things. I'm addicted to the sea. I walk a lot. My idea of a good time is eating with loved ones or making music together. I have a guttural laugh. I'm on a mission to learn to play the harp. I like to make things with my hands. I think that creating beauty is the 'point'. I read voraciously. I sing in a band, in the shower, on the street, to my dog....

PHILOSOPHY

Wabi Sabi -The beauty of the "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".

“No life worthy of the name consists of anything more than the continual series of struggles to develop one’s character through the medium of whatever one has chosen as a career”. - Juan Belmonte

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read. No special favorites but in the recent mix are Gregory David Roberts, Junot Diaz, James Frey, Aravind Adiga, Gabriel García Márquez and James Fenimore Cooper.

I'll crack a smile for most things. I warm with Gypsy music or reggae by the fire on the beach and get high off orchestral strings.
I've recently been listening to: Melissa Laveaux, Andrew Bird, Coco Rosie, Amon Tobin, Micachu and the Shapes, Clouds, Janis Joplin, Burial, Martyn, la Rue Ketanou, cinematic orchestra, the Rolling Stones, Paco de Lucia, Georges Brassens, Eleven Tigers, Lucy Love, Tycho.....too many to list!

Favorite producers / production houses: Pedro Almodovar, Studio Ghibli, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Luc Besson... can't remember them all now...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked 500 miles (770 km approx) of the Camino de Santiago. It was so variable in its beauty and I left the road with a deep sense of serenity.

Hitch-hiked a yacht from Jersey to Brixham - the stars are amazing when you're out at sea and there are so many beautiful seabirds - it warmed the cockles of my heart.

Living in Scandinavia awakened my inner Viking. I love it there - don't underestimate the beauty and culture of THE NORTH
