About Me

(Filled out as my friend, AJ, and I together)

English-American snarky poet or something and Venezuelan-American neurosurgery student and botanist from the American capital of outlandish art student outfits and Jewish-Italian fusion food. Taking a year off from being productive members of society, but productive members of the world. Learning Spanish, exploring new countries, learning instruments, making art, and most importantly acquiring worldwide travel companions.

Open-minded. Crafty. Unflappable. Laidback. Adventurous.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend and I are traveling Europe for a couple months and hoping to find a way to both have a place to stay AND still have money to...you know...do things. Earlier this year I had some of the best days of my life in Argentina with people I met on couchsurfing and have fully realized that the slice of life you get from spending time with locals is the most rewarding part of discovering a new place. We're not just using this as a way to find a cheap place to say, we're here to experience Europe which means just as much interacting with the people, as seeing the beauty and grandeur it has to offer.

Interests

*Art (looking at, making, talking about, drawing, photography, facepainting)
*Walking (anywhere, everywhere, alone, accompanied, barefoot, shod),
*Music (live, playing drums and/or ukulele, singing loudly and dramatically),
*Physical Activities (roller derby, dancing, skiing, volleyball, baseball, basketball, trapeze, running)
*Writing (spoken word, puns on other objects, surreal short stories),
*Nerdiness (documentaries, science museums, math problems for fun)

dressing up, over-analyzing, campfires, fireworks, museums of all kinds.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm not super up-to-date with music, I love girl rock bands, punk rock, hip hop, bluegrass, vaguely folkish alternarock. Approximately 65% of my brain is composed of showtunes.

Movies: Harold and Maude, Hot Fuzz, Mary & Max, all Wes Anderson, O Brother Where Art Thou, Mystery Train, Down By Law

TV Shows: Daria, Rick and Morty, Futurama, 30 Rock, Full Metal Alchemist, American Horror Story, terrible crime scene shows

Too many books and poetry

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised $2000 to subsidize the costs of sending low-income high school students to national circuit debate tournaments.

My friend: With local art students created a mini local wardrobe library, filled it with books for children and information about the importance of youth education, and placed it in a local low-income area park.

Recently spraypainted "Block you like a hurricane" on the hurricane barrier near my house. I think it's pretty hilarious.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Swing and jive dancing, random artsy crafts, chocolate sculpting, facepainting, Spanish lessons, gardening, bracelet making, music, discussions (debate team captain level discussions),
