HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I found out about CouchSurfing just before I started my travels, so at the moment I am surfing, rather than offering my couch. But hopefully when I return home to Melbourne I can return the generosity I have been shown. For me, the CouchSurfing concept is fantastic. I want to really get to know the cities I visit (not just by visiting the tourist sites listed in my Lonely Planet guide!) and think that meeting locals, either by surfing their couch or taking them up on the offer of a coffee/drink, and seeing their city from their point of view, is the best way to do this.
