About Me

Hello! I have been traveling around central and South and North America for about two years and still think I've got a couple more months (maybe lifetimes to go). I'm Irish but have been traveling on and off for the last 8 years so feel like I have many homes now. My aim is to experience as much as I possibly can on this adventure and while hostels are fun, you can't compare it to meeting people who live and know the area. Before this I was working with an NGO in Burkina Faso, West Africa. I've spent most of the last summers working at musical festivals living out of a tent for months , which I love. I LOVE travelling so much and feeling like every day is going to be a new adventure. I look forward to meeting you xx

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met a wonderful women in Tamil Nadu, India who had been coach surfing around India for years. Her stories of her experiences and the new friends she has met convinced me instantly.

Interests

Everything, I want to learn about everything and while some things inspire me more than others and I'm interested in trying to discover everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love world music particularly if it's from Mali, trance, reggae a bit of everything. I'm currently reading wild swans by Jung Chang and it's incredible. I haven't had a tv or laptop in over a year so haven't seen many films lately, I tend to like the oldies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just lived through the political uprising and military coup in Burkina Faso which was absolutely terrifying, but now it's over also an amazing thing to have experienced. It was also amazing to see how the locals dealt with the situation and very quickly got on with their lives, it was incredibly inspirational.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I've mentioned I want to experience everything and have no intention of ever stopping. I want to learn how to be the best me through meeting others and experiencing life. At the moment I teach English. By the end of this trip I want to be fluent in Spanish and learn as much as I can about the land (permaculture etc).

What I Can Share with Hosts

My optimism for life, my cooking skills and hopefully many interesting conversations about adventures we've both had and plan to have.
