About Me

I am a researcher and sound/performance artist based in Barcelona. I’m 43, married, no kids, and I love traveling and meeting new people. I travel for my work a few times a year and otherwise as often as I can afford to. I recently moved to a new continent, and I'm still feeling a little like a visitor in Europe, but I hope that sense of discovery will continue for a long time.

My creative life deals with human communication networks, in all the ways we relate to each other and build meaning from our surroundings. I use electronics, biofeedback, and experimental sound to create experiences that hopefully lead to a more intuitive understanding of how we are all connected and defined by our relationships to each other.

These ideas aren't just in my work, but I hope I can truthfully say that I live by them as well. Nothing gratifies me as much as sharing new perspectives with the people I meet. Also, this sense of synergy makes me truly respect our differences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To make the most fun of traveling on a budget and extend my network of friends even further around the world. I've also become more aware of A**bnb's negative impact on local affordable housing in popular cities, and want to use it less and less. When I lived in Japan, I had the honor of staying with two different host families, and learned so much from them. The best places I've stayed were those that were hosted by someone who really loved hosting. I hope I'll have the chance to pay some of that hospitality back as well.
