Overview
About Me
I'm a freshwater fanatic. A wetland wanderer and river runner. Once an environmental educator and then a field technician with AmeriCorps.
A perfect day for me is spent among the trees wandering and reading, or heading somewhere spontaneously with a friend.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The experiences at hotels are not as enjoyable as the couch of a friend, but my friends aren't in every nook of the world, so I choose this in the hopes that these experiences will be as natural and genuine as a friend's place would be.
Living in a co-op for over 2 years brought about a stronger, communicative, and confident 'me', and I attribute it fully to the people who I lived with.
Interests
Life and physical sciences, social sciences. Geology, ecology, plant biology, food chemistry, conservation, sustainable building, history.
The kitchen, woods, beach, water, eateries, museums, and music venues are my classrooms and cathedrals.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy music with jazz, funk, blues, and rock influences. Electronic music or hiphop with these influences is something I'm especially keen on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the best experiences I've had was collaborating with a small group for a winter hiking trip across 9mi of ice in the coldest snap of winter Michigan had seen in years to a little island.
Teach, Learn, Share
