Overview
About Me
I'm a Canadian living and working in Leicester, United Kingdom. I love travelling: in the past four years, I have
explored twenty-five countries, on five continents and have lived abroad in Australia, Germany and New Zealand.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love making as many new friends as possible! Couchsurfing is a great way to learn more about the cultures of the countries you're in and see things from a local's perspective. It also allows for more bonding time than most of the short exchanges you're likely to have with the people you meet in hostels.
Interests
I love nature and the outdoors! Multi-day hiking excursions, scuba diving, skiing, surfing, skydiving; any sort of outdoor sport. Also I love animals; especially seeing animals in the wild.
In more populated areas my favourite thing to see is unique European architecture, I'm especially obsessed with castles and ancient ruins (because we don't have any in Canada). Museums are another place I love to spend time, my favourite being ones on anthropology, paleontology or classical art. Now that I'm living in England, I'm also a huge fan of the Theatre! I see as many musicals as I can!
When I'm not outside I love to read, knit or colour in my adult-colouring book ;) In everyday life, my main hobbies are the gym, yoga, running and hanging out with friends and my pet parrot (yes, I brought him with me from Canada to the United Kingdom)!

Music, Movies, and Books
Any kind of music you can dance too! As well as older music from the 50s all the way to the current stuff! My favourite movies are as mix of comedies and Disney movies because I love to laugh and love happy endings. My favourite books are always changing as I read more. In general, I read from most genres: classics, biographies, fiction. Currently some favourites are: The Drifters - James A. Michener, Love Letters to the Dead - Ava Dellaira, A Little Life - Hanya Yanagihara, The Man Who Loved Seagulls - Osho.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year, while visiting Fiji, I scuba dived with bullsharks. There were about thirty of them, between two and four meters long and they came so close that one even touched my face! It was amazing; sharks are one of my favourite animals so it was definitely a top experience for me!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a great cook (if I do say so myself) and also am very into creating healthy and tasty food. My travelling has helped me develop a wide range of cooking styles and I can season all kinds of meat and seafood as well as prepare vegetarian or vegan dishes. If you've ever wanted to try some traditional North American desserts such as pumpkin pie or Nanimo bars, then I can help you out with that!
Also my friends refer to me as a walking encyclopedia of animal information. I love to share random facts about different species and can certainly entertain you for an evening :)
I also know some German, and I would be very appreciative of any Germans patient enough to spend some time talking with me auf Deustsch :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
My years of travelling have left me with lots of great stories, as well as information about different parts of the world. If you want some help or ideas planning your own trip or just want a good laugh, I'm happy to be of service for either :)
