My fiancé Andrew and I have a two-bedroom home with our large, fluffy Great Pyrenees pup named Luna.

We have a private spare room with a queen sized futon. We also have a living room with a very comfortable couch, an oversized chair with an ottoman, as well as a sleeping bag and a very comfortable floor.

The best part of traveling, to me, is getting to totally immerse yourself in the culture of the place that you're staying. Staying with a local is the easiest way to do that!

I love staying with people who can show me parts of a place I may never have found on my own, like secret beaches or under-the-radar restaurants. And I love doing the same for the people who stay with us in Charlotte, taking them to the best local breweries and on our favorite hikes!

I popped a bottle of champagne under the Eiffel Tower on New Year's Eve as the clock struck midnight and the Eiffel Tower glittered. Awesome way to bring in 2013!
