ABOUT ME
I grew up in the Midwest. In 2010 I received my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a focus in sculptural Glass and Fibers with a minor in Psychology. Immediately following Graduation my partner and I flew to Europe where we backpacked for the summer. We then couch surfed/traveled by car across the United States, and are now living in Seattle. I live with my husband David and our gray cat panda.
PHILOSOPHY
Never stop learning or growing. Be kind to yourself, and the world around you. Do not compromise your core values. Be understanding of others, not judgmental. Live your life the best way you know how without negatively project your values on others lives.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are a queer friendly, vegetarian/pescatarian household and find it very important that all couch surfers feel that they are safe and in good company. This is a great way to meet people that we would otherwise not know. Beyond that I personally feel the major benefit of couch surfing is sharing the opportunity to travel without the hesitation of affording housing. CS is a great opportunity for surfer and host to share the kindness of ones home and life experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
One of my first CS experiences was in Europe and was a mess. My partner and I had a terrible experience that tainted our travels from there on. After deciding to not do couch surfing for the rest of our trip, I meet several other couch surfers through other experiences unrelated to the website. After a lot of convincing I gave CS another shot- We met some great people and had overall mostly positive experiences.
Interests
I am very passionate about blowing glass, weaving, dying fibers, vegetarian cooking, wine making and drinking, reading, movies, music, gardening, hiking & exploring.
