About Me

I'm a decently-nice, pretty sarcastic, absolute shit-talker with a deep love for adventure, good food, good booze, and good jokes. I experience about 90% of my life through food and drink and, if I'm being honest, I'm not even sure how I experience the other 10%. I love the community that comes with eating a good meal, or sometimes even a terrible one. I spend most of my time working as a server at a restaurant that's humorously fancier than I am, trying to create the magic that results from an awesome meal and making the experience worth the $$$.

I think connection is a qualitative thing, not quantitative. I've considered people family after only spending days with them. Not all the time, but you know, it doesn't take long to figure out who will unabashedly be a damn fool with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used Couchsurfing a couple of years ago when my friends and I went to Europe. It was an awesome experience and I met some of the nicest, most like-minded people. I haven't done much traveling since then, for a number of reasons (finances, work, school, etc.) but I'm really excited to get back at it!

I unfortunately am unable to host right now, given that I work late hours and have three sort of introverted roommates. Hopefully that won't always be the case! I will say, if you host me and we hit it off, it wouldn't be a problem to put you up if you ever wanted to come through St.Louis for a couple days! I'm more than happy to return the favor.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll be honest, the only books I've finished in years are "Girl Walks Into a Bar" and "Voluntary Madness", both of which I enjoyed. I've been chipping away at Fitzgerald's "On Booze" for a while now, which I love.

Fight Club has been my number one for years. I generally love mob movies (Iceman!, Goodfellas!), dark humor, documentaries, and a healthy dose of stand-up comedy. My latest Netflix binge was "Scrotal Recall". I proudly re-watch episodes of Gilmore Girls.

I'll keep the music list super condensed for now:
Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, M.I.A., Craig Mack, Beyonce, Chance the Rapper, Jackie Wilson, The Dead Weather, The Kills, Grouplove, Yeasayer, Run The Jewels, Missy Elliott, Count Basie, R.L. Burnside...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I didn't really DO anything, but I rode through a rainbow on the Caribbean Sea while eating a really delicious cinnamon roll one time. That was pretty fucking amazing. I also saw the Northern Lights in Scotland a couple years back after a day of touring scotch distilleries. On both of those occasions, I was in great company and life felt fucking spectacular. There are more occasions like this that I'd love to talk about in person.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you hooooow tooooo turn a 10 cent pack of ramen into a gourmet meal using a couple of pantry staples. I can teach you how to write on a cake really pretty. I can teach you how to rap all the lyrics to almost any Chance the Rapper song...

I'd love to learn just about anything. Especially if it involves food, drink, music, or dance!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my favorite beers with you! And I can cook you food of the vegan or non-vegan variety! (I'm not a vegan, but have taken a liking to cooking for my vegan friends).
