About Me

CURRENT MISSION

trying to promote global positivity

ABOUT ME

After surfing the wave of life, as it took me all over the globe for almost a decade. I am now home in the gorgeous mile high city, Denver. I am back in school because I really cannot get enough and I need a PhD to make the changes that I want to in education and society. I teach, research, and bartend. The latter being a hobby and means to make money, but also something I really enjoy.

I am an animal-loving vegetarian, which I only include here because so many people have been disappointed to find out that I can't share their favorite, typical dish...sometimes it makes me sad, but I come from an animal-abusing country that has shaped my conscience and diet :) Education, formal and informal, is my passion and I wake up every day eager to learn and teach

PHILOSOPHY

surf and let surf....Don´t be lazy, get crazy !

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Jack Keruoac, Pablo Neruda, Isabel Allende, David Sedaris, Garcia Marquez, Paulo Freire, John Dewey, Nel Noddings, Elliot Eisner

Music is crucial in my everyday life, but I am easy to please. I only get/buy music that is recommended by friends, but have found that this is the best tool for discovering great new jams. Reggae and Indie are my staples, or anything with a good beat

Movies that make me laugh or think

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

too many to list, this is truly impossible to answer. LIFE is amazing

Teach, Learn, Share

If it were clear to us that our capacity to teach came from our capacity to learn, we would understand the importance of informal experiences on the street, in the square, in the work place, in the classroom, on the playground....Paulo Freire

The gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It doesnt include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marraiges; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our courage: neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile.Robert F. Kennedy, 1968We learn the most from the people that we are close to and the people we really let in. I am closest to my beautiful siblings. My brother JOHNNY inspires me because of his caring, unconditionally respectful, creative, and loving spirit. My older sister DANY inspires me for her willingness to give her all for the people she cares about and her excellcent judge of character. My little sister TAYLOR inspires me because of her strength and independence that you can just feel when you are in here prescense. I am so fortunate to be able to be a better person because of the experiences that we have gone through together and apart.
