About Me

I'm originally from Mauritius - a small tropical island in the southwestern Indian Ocean. I'm open-minded, easy-going, a good listener and curious to discover and learn more about different cultures. Above all, i really value meaningful and lasting friendships.

I'm currently a full-time university student in Denmark where i've been living for over 3 years. I like to meet and get to know people from all walks of life. I am very curious to explore and experience different cultures. I enjoy travelling and i try to embark on new journeys of discovery whenever i can take time off from my studies. I enjoy learning about the history of the places where i visit, meet the locals and learn about their customs. I'm also interested in learning new skills; playing musical instruments, photography, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to couchsurfing by a friend who is an experienced traveller. I couchsurfed for the first time in Berlin where i stayed with a group of university students who welcome me with open arms and also took me around the city. I tried interesting local food and experienced the social nightlife. The next morning, they even surprised me with some delicious freshly baked croissants.

Then, i travelled to Portugal where i was hosted by a warm and loving family who made me feel at home. In the evening, i was lucky and felt very appreciative when they decided to put on a live performance to show their musical talents playing drums and guitar. My overall couchsurfing personal experience has been very enjoyable and truly inspiring. It really touched my heart that strangers (sometimes struggling to make ends meet) open up their home and hearts without hesitation to offer me a place to sleep for free and even going above and beyond by sharing their food and taking me around.

I truly admire and feel very humbled in face of such affection and generosity which really changed my perspective on travelling. After i returned to Denmark, i wanted to give back and help the global Couchsurfing community. Even though i don't have a lot to offer, i'm willing to at least try to help other travellers.

Interests

I enjoy exploring the world around me and i have a strong appreciation for nature, also getting to know people from different parts of the world and their culture. I always try to spend as much of my free time to connect with the simple joys of life through sharing, helping and making friends. I enjoy listening to travel stories and personal experiences from travellers. I like walks in nature, discovering amazing sceneries and learning about wildlife and plants. I love chill music and live events. At the end of the day, a nice hot cup of tea is part of my routine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy chill and meditation music that i can listen to for hours.
I love movies which are based off real-life experiences as they inspire me to get out of my comfort zone and experience life.
I like sci-fi and motivational books but nowadays, all the reading i do is mostly related to my studies. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked for over 8 months in southern Europe. I experienced amazing scenery, cultural diversity, local food and along the way made good friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't think of some impressive skills to teach my guests... But if i have some free time, i could show you around or just be a travel buddy. I'm a good listener. I enjoy sharing travel stories, life experiences and i welcome friendly discussion.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a full-time university student and i live in a small dorm room. So, i don't have a lot of things to offer. But i like to keep an open mind and i would be glad to engage in friendly conversation. I can tell you about my favourite places to explore in the nearby area and hopefully, it will help you to have a better tourist experience.
