About Me

CURRENT MISSION

More unicorns.

ABOUT ME

Looking forward to meeting new people... especially now that I've moved to San Francisco.

I serve as Associate Director at AIDS/LifeCycle.

My partner and I enjoy endurance challenges: marathons, triathlons, cycling.

Love food. And wine.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an atheist. Our time is NOW. We owe it to ourselves and to others to experience as many things in this fantastic world as possible. We should leave behind a world that's a little better than how we entered it.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'WOW! What a ride!'"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couch swap! Coming as soon as we move in to our new apartment on October 15.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love hosting and fixing breakfast for my guests when I can. One remarkable encounter was with Miyo who surfed with us from Japan and later visited us again for Burning Man! I've hosted hitch-hikers, they were pretty interesting. We have hosted 70+ CSers so far (today is May 19, 2009). I'd say I have a medium to large amount of experience and so far I love it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Herman Hesse and Thic Nhat Han are two of my favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

St. Peters in Rome blew my mind! Trying to do business in Italy was insane. Visiting the Cliffs of Moher and collecting soil from a cemetery in Kilkenny, Ireland (where many of my ancestors came from) were both incredible experiences. Yet driving Highway 395 in California continues to take my breath away every time.

Teach, Learn, Share

My number-one travel interest is to learn what people eat, drink and think in the places I visit. I want to share folklore, cooking insights and humor.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Turkey, United States
