About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to make my way back from Los Angeles to the land of my birth in June.
ABOUT ME
I'm Ali, from a suburb square in the Midwest. Majored in sociology and women's studies at KU in the lovely town of Lawrence, Kansas, then moved to Los Angeles to work with 7th graders as a tutor and facilitator of an after-school program.
I'm extremely down to earth but enamored of adventure and trying new things. Never totally content with where I'm at in life-always, always, always trying to be a better person. Not great at small talk but I do love learning about people's interests and who they are. Easily delighted by kindness, generosity, new places and things. Devoted to making the world better.
PHILOSOPHY
Take care of yourself and be kind.

Music, Movies, and Books
I adore reading. Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, George Orwell, JD Salinger are a few of my very favorites but there are dozens. I don't watch many movies but I love a good documentary, and as for music my tastes are pretty eclectic--Modest Mouse is at the top but I love Fiona Apple, Santogold, and tons of others. I've lately (finally) been getting into hip hop as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved to LA by myself.
Traveled the whole country by bus.
Lived with 30 people at one time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can make some great salads and offer some fairly well informed opinions on our education system.
