ABOUT ME

Originally from southern Turkey, I carry the mediterranean hot blood as we say here :))) I currently live in Conakry city in Guinea and started to work here as sales and marketing director. I have a 2 br apartment that I share with my colleague, The apartment is very convenient in a very nice and secure location. I am a well traveled person with interested stories to share. I am a good cook as well and I am ready to pamper my guests with some great food when I have free time :)

PHILOSOPHY

I value equality in an unfair world
I value integrity where hypocrisy is commonplace
I value resourcefulness in a capitalist society
I value fun and forgiveness 'cos life's too short!

Simplicity in my physical world, richness in my mental world. I guess my approach to travel fits well with that.

Gratitude is key to happiness. Gratitude is pretty constant within an individual though.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I decided to come to Belarus in order to learn russian language and I decided to find some Belarusian people on Facebook and ask them about the country. One of these people I met on Facebook told me about CS and I decided to join.

Interessen

I love independent travel for many reasons; I particularly thrive on learning about different cultures -the nuance of diversity and similarity -and going to places locals go. When travelling, I particularly like markets, local life, villages, nightlife, walking... When not travelling, I'm immersing myself in reading about travel, places, people, history, politics, and planning... Just decided to count the number of countries I've travelled solo and it comes to 76.

Many will see me as a social creature. I love going out, dancing, discussions, asking questions, laughing, parties, DANCING! However, I also actively think a lot; and I love film, theatre, learning languages, science of psychology/society, horse riding, ice skating, argentinian tango, fencing, swimming...

A few other random things about me: I'm less of a materialist with age. It's important to me to be both a local and global citizen.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Scent of Woman, Forrest Gump (both of these watched countless times!), American History X, Indochine, In Godfather, Life is Beautiful, One flew over the cuckoo's nest, Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, ... Love international film and a film that will make me cry and laugh. I love long films, epics, films based on true stories and great dialogue.
My favorite books are: Karamazov Brothers, Crime and Punishment.

The most amazing think I have ever seen were: Iguazu Waterfalls, Rio De Janeiro (Jesus Christ the Redeemer statue) and Of course Costa Rican beaches :)))

TEACH

I'm pretty much an adopted Istanbulin which means I can tell you random facts about Istanbul, show you around, take you to some of my favourite places.

I can teach you Turkish, French, Spanish and Argentinian Tango at all levels; I'm very patient.

LEARN

I take any opportunity I can to converse Russian and refresh my vocab and learn, especially when I drink a few shots of votka :))

Right now, I'd love to learn some Arabic and Italian.

SHARE

I can share with you my thoughts, whether it be travel or something else -or if not that, I can hopefully share a darn good time with you socially.

We can go dance tango or salsa together, ice skating, horse riding..
