Hey there, my name is Alika. I'm into staying active, art, reading all sorts of things, exploring, and always looking for the next adventure.
I play instruments (guitar, violin, mandolin, etc.) and am currently learning German. I love meeting new people and getting to show friends around town. I'm a recently graduated art student (studied scientific illustration), with a passion for learning about the sciences and the world around us.

I love getting to know new people, whether that be by sharing new foods, traditions, or just sharing stories over a beer, it's all a part of respectfully beneficial experience.

1940's Jazz, old time Bluegrass, and ambient, to list a few genres I like to listen to.
I am a huge fan of podcasts, with Radiolab being at the top of my list.
I'm all over the place when it comes to movies, but I must admit I'm not a huge buff, so there's a lot to be learned on that front for me.
Reading, however, is a bit of a different story. I'm into a lot of non-fiction work, including ridiculously long accounts of the world's great explorers. Alexanader von Humbolt, Captain Cook, Shackleton and De Long, just to name a few.

Music, languages, good times! I love the idea of sharing skills and knowledge; whether it be how to shuck an oyster (a recent addition of my skillset) or learning languages, everyone has something to teach, and learn, vice versa.
