About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be happy, be healthy and make a lot of friends

ABOUT ME

I love what life has to offer. I take the good with the bad and try to make sense of it all, and I don`t worry if no sense is made, I just keep smiling. I want to be one of those older people who have the greatest stories from their younger years, when they traveled the world and experienced everything!
I enjoy laughing, and being creative with everything I do. What a beautiful world this is!
I am an underachiever when it comes to the categories of anything organized --religion, education, philosophy and politics. That being said, I am an overachiever in the areas of loving my family & friends, learning through experiences and experiments, treating all mother earth’s designs with equal respect, and having fun while doing it.

PHILOSOPHY

A few Notes on the Subject:

Learn to live and live to the fullest.

Knowledge and thought and voice are vital. They illustrate who we are and manifest what we see as our reality. That is why we must always be careful and thoughtful in our thoughts words and actions.

I've learned that you can learn something from anyone and anything.
I've learned from my parents and friends things I will continue to learn.
I've learned from the weather to always be prepared for change.
I've learned from a hummingbird to live lightly.
I've learned from a Diné man to live in beauty the rest of my life. And this is what I will strive to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to network in the community sense not in the business one. We are now such a global world, one that is large and small in the same respect. I think it is important in this era to break the barrier of cultural ignorance that keeps many groups of people down. Cheers to knowledge!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to experience Couch Surfing! I would love help in gaining some. I have however, lived vicariously through pals, who have only good things to say about CS. In my imagination I can see sharing memorable activities related to the settings (i.e. outdoor adventures, city living, rural secrets: depending on the places I will travel).

Interests

I love people and places and things
and doing & seeing things
and eating good food and drinking good wine
or bad wine while listening to music
or playing music
or dancing and jumping or climbing or swimming
while whistling or listening to
people and places and “inanimate” things
and also of course, I love
many other “things”

  • beauty
  • dancing
  • education
  • dining
  • wine
  • drinking
  • politics
  • traveling
  • music
  • outdoor activities
  • surfing
  • rock climbing
  • swimming

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Tom Robbins, Paulo Coelho, Ayn Rand, Maya Angelou & Henry David Thoreau and alot more that I cant think of right now! Two of my favorite books to re-read are Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry & the Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. I also enjoyed (the reading of late) Ishmael, Galápagos, Food of the Gods, Tales of a Female Nomad, Three cups of Tes, Eat Pray Love & The Beauty of Humanity Movement.

As for music I like many genres, from bluegrass to blues, jazz to (old) country, rock to "world" I like almost everything, including Larry McMurtrys son James McMurtry (what a talented family), Ray Lamontagne, Gillian Welch, Tom Waits, Iris Dement, Sheryl Crow, Muddy Waters, Miles Davis, Broken Bells, (I heard Cage the Elephant is similar)The Shins, The Black Keys, Cake, Soul Coughing, Sublime, Reel Big Fish, Modest Mouse, Ween, Beck, this could go on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a wildland firefighter has exposed me to some really amazing wilderness scenes. I have been to places that many people will never be able to go or even see photos of.

Teach, Learn, Share

This is my occupation! To learn and teach! I should have read further, and now I mustn't change what I wrote above! I think that what I will have to offer will change with each person/people I meet. Life has a way of giving you just what you may need. I appreciate many indigenous oral traditional teachings because the same story will be told over and over again, but the lessons learned from the same story will always be different because you will be in a different place in your life.
