About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To work and study hard, save plenty, travel at least once a year to a new place, meet new and interesting people and make sure people have a great time if they're in my company or my town.

ABOUT ME

Lots! I work hard am not home a lot as I have a busy social life around Byron or up in Brisbane, however I am studying my Diploma of Accountancy which has kept me a tad more home bound.
Single, have great friends and family which I love to hang out with, having BBQ's going to the beach or parties, or watching our local team play football.
Love travelling, but don't get to go as often as I would like to, once a year at present is the goal between everything else.
Very easy-going, laid back and fun, always laughing and love cracking jokes. Love fancy dress party, any chance to goof around and crack up! Love the beach, especially in Byron, it's beautiful. There's way more to tell you, but will do it face to face one day!

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people how you wish to be treated. Gossip can be very cruel. Always go with your gut feeling! Look someone in the eye when you cheers them and in their left eye when you're talking to them. Be honest and loyal and respectful of yourself, family, friends and your environment and they will always protect and love you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I'm waitressing in a local restaurant as soon as I spot a client with a map I go over and ask them what they feel like doing when they're here. Then I'll circle my favourite cafe/ hot spots for great brekky, fantastic cocktails, good night life, activities to do with kids, etc and I'll mark it on their maps for them. If I see someone in the street looking lost, especially backpackers I'll go and help them get to where they need to get to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I currently rent a room in a house with my landlady and another tenant. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to offer a couch surfing experience due to it not being my house to offer. I am happy to catch up for drinks and coffee and show you around town. I have most weekends off and work Mon - Fri days and also Wed and Fri, sometimes Sat nights, but can always meet up with you later, show you where to catch local transport, etc.

Interests

Learning to surf, walking along the beach to Broken Head and back. Backyard cricket and BBQ's or a game of Bocce on Wategoes... Cooking for friends, watching movies, all types, except horrors, they freak me out. Skydiving, finally had my first jump as I work there and it's totally AWESOME! Camping, fishing, barefoot bowls, midnight swims (in summer), music festivals, we get to host Blues fest and Splendour and I love Woodford Folk Festival. Live bands and having a dance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught a boy with severe Cerbral Palsy to swim without floatation devices.
Saved a boy from drowning.
Rode on a camel out to the Sahara desert and slept beside my camel, under a Berber tent, saw an oasis, went to pee behind the palm tree in the oasis and it vanished....
Got to sail a 24 gold plated superyacht from Olympos to Marmaris in Turkey.
Went skydiving just because I had a dream the night before that I did at 14000ft over the Byron coastline.
Kayaked out to Julian rocks in Byron and had a mother and baby hump back whale come up 10m in front of me, then dived and swam directly underneath me turning on their sides to look up at me. Scary but way cool.
Went in the annual inner tube race in Czesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. An annual tyre race that the river floats around the whole town and never goes out to sea and all the pubs are on the river so you sit in your tyre and float from pub to pub.
Will write more when I remember.
