About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience life the way it should be, under an ever changing sun :)

ABOUT ME

I love life and all it has to offer. The people, cultures, food, parties and festivals, sights, and the long road I have ahead of me :) always looking for new places and friends to share stories with.

PHILOSOPHY

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”
- Henry Miller

"Make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.”
― Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to be involved, especially sharing skills I take for granted, like English for example. I have taught English in Laos and hope to volunteer more of my time in other countries. I would love to help out with natural disaster relief, teaching, creative projects or just playing with local kids :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used CS a couple times and it's always been good! Unfortunately like most backpackers, I'm on a tight budget and wanting to see and do everything! I'm currently wandering my way through Southern Mexico, and unfortunately I think this will be the last few weeks of my trip as I'm really starting to run out of money. I'm looking for hosts who can show me a good old local time, rather than expensive tourist destinations, and have some good laughs and good conversations with :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was trekking through small villages in Laos and came across a tiny Hmong village with the most beautiful children. They loved my hula hoop and we played with it for hours. There was no electricity in the village so when it got dark, all the kids in the village brougt their flashlights to the town hall where we put on a show for all the spectators. Sometimes the littlest things are the most amazing =)

Just recently in Pushkar, India, I had been participating in drum circles with the guys who just recorded an album with Radiohead. One day I brought my hula hoop to the circle and they asked me to perform with them at an Indian wedding! I went for it and had the best time! Take chances, everything happens for a reason = )

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught English to college students and monks in Laos, I can teach hula hooping and yoga as well. I love learning wether it be languages, history, culture, cooking, anything! Sharing is caring =)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have many stories, and love good conversation. I can teach, listen, clean, help out, entertain, and hopefully make you laugh :) I can share my creativity and good vibes with anyone, anywhere!
