Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Part of why I travel is to meet people and I love seing places from the locals' point of view. It's much easier to get the feeling of a place when you live with someone who's been there a while.

I volunteer away as much free time as I can, the rest I spend planning trips with my bestie (she's a tour guide so that makes things easy) or reading.

Algo increíble que he hecho

One volunteering project I did last year (and will do every year): we (20 medstudents and 5 doctors) spent a weekend in a village in the mountains doing routine labs and clinical check ups for the people there. Besides my excitement for anything medical, it was amazing because those people hadn't been to a doctor in years or ever, some of them. That was as close to 'this is why i came to medschool' as i've gotten so far.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I've tried a few volunteering programms (aiesec, eramus+) and I could share some hard learned wisdom about them. And always happy (too happy, some would say) to explain some medical concept or break down myths, no medical adivice though, i'm not qualified for that just yet.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I picked up a bit of my parents' cooking skills and my best friend (i'm pretty sure we'd be coming together, joint at the hip we are) is a good cook, so you'd be in for a Romanian treat.
She can offer obscure history knowledge, i can offer obscure medical knowledge. We both can offer weird humour
