I grew up close to Hamburg, in the North of Germany. I study International Business and Intercultural Studies, and I love traveling and meeting new people. During one year of living in Spain (Canary Islands) I fell in love with the Spanish language. I went to Chile to improve it, but actually I had to learn more of Chilean accent than Castellano ;) Nevertheless, that's what I find great and exciting about travelling, to keep being ready for surprises and live day by day. From my experience, the best things happen when or where you do not expect them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some confuse traveling with sightseeing. I love to discover the architecture and historic places of cities, as I want to learn about the history and culture of the places I go to. However, the locals you occasionally meet, even if its only strangers at a market place or in the metro, form the memories you will have of the place. A city can look stunning, but the people make its character. I always had my best trips at places random people recommended or took me to and actually, a lot of good times when getting lost or accidentally picking a path that hadn't been planned. I am excited about learning in general, but especially about people, their thoughts, traditions and experiences they made in life.

Interests

I love being together with friends and people who love life and share their positive feelings with others... Sitting, dancing, drinking, cooking together.. I had many stays at hostels or friends' places where I found this atmosphere and it's always been the happiest places for me. I also use my free time to try out new things, like different sports or going to concerts, cultural events. Just go outside, be in the nature, enjoy and learn from what you discover in your environment.
I am happy to have been able to move several times to various countries during the last years and I hope to continue like this. Always busy experiencing what life in other places has to offer :)
Also I consider sustainability as a part I try to integrate in my life as much as possible. I like the idea of sharing communities, which is another reason I decided to try couch surfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sometimes however I have those days I just want to chill and watch a nice film. But as I'm no movie expert and find it really difficult to choose movies, I ask my friends for recommendations. I really like movies with political topics, or rather documentaries.

Unfortunately, I'm too impatient for reading books. I'm like that since I was a child, I just can't wait for the story to end, I'm kinda too lazy to read! But I do see it is important to educate yourself through reading, so I focus on articles and other shorter texts on topics I'm interested in.

About music, I listen to almost every genre. It really depends on my mood and the occasion. As long as I feel like the music's giving me something, I don't care about the style. I love listening to live music as well as I go to techno parties. It all depends :)
