About Me
Hello Everyone,
I am a quirky, travel-hungry young woman with a passion for novel people and experiences. I believe that in order to be successful global citizens, we must travel and interact with people who hold experiences and perspectives different from our own.
I have found myself at a bit of a crossroads: I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Neuroscience. After struggling to find a relevant job, I worked as a professional baker at a local food co-op for 1.5 years. Further education is in the future, but I want to expand the attainment of my masters degree to other countries.
I definitely have the wanderlust and am hoping to do some traveling before committing to one place for awhile.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friend Evan and I are having a wonderful wwoofing (World Wide Opportunities for Organic Farming) adventure this autumn. With a limited budget and a desire to experience countries through the eyes of locals, we are hoping to do some couch-surfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a wide range of music: Jazz from the 1920s, Classical, Trip-hop, Global Music. My favorite bands include Massive Attack, Alt-J, Putamayo, Glass Animals, Joe Hisaishi, Phantogram, A Perfect Circle, Wax Tailor, System of a Down, Antique Beats.
I enjoy quirky films and historical dramas. I watch more TV series than movies and am a huge fan of Joss Weden's works: (Dollhouse, Firefly). I also love clever documentary-style comedies such as Parks & Recreation, 30 Rock, and The Office.
I certainly wished I did more reading, but I tend to get absorbed in books, so I tread carefully when starting a new one. Lately I read the Hunger Games and the Handmaid's Tale and have been working through GUT (I love learning about the human relationship with our individual microbiomes) Two books that stuck with me are The Book Thief and The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I am always open to suggestions on what to read next.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Completely revamped my relationship with food and the way my body absorbs it. I have suffered from some health issues since adolescence and finally began the healing process through eating nutrient rich, probiotic foods. I am now feeling better than I have in years and have developed a deep interest in gut-health and the relationship between our brains, bodies, and the bacteria within us.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about nutrition and gut-health, as well as how to bake and cook yummy food. I can relay all sorts of strange (usually useless) information that I've picked up over the years.
I would love to learn about life in other countries, the cultural experiences, and new perspectives on the world we live in. I would like to improve my linguistics: I speak Russian, French, and Swedish with varying fluency.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share delicious and healthful foods with you, deep conversation, and my experience growing up in a different country. I am an organized person that cleans up after herself. I hope to share places to explore and many laughs with you.
