Hey! I’m a physics student in the UK and pretty new to Couchsurfing. I believe that when you think the best of people you seem to find the best kinds of people, and Couchsurfing really epitomises that. Very excited to learn more about cultures and languages through the people who live their lives with them. As I’m a student my hosting abilities are limited by my flatmates, but I’m very happy to hang out and meet new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of purposeful travel, where I feel I am actually learning through the people that speak the languages and live the cultural ways of the region I happen to be in. CS just seems really epic for that. Also, I’m a student, with as small a travel budget as possible ;)

Interests

All things old! I love old music, old clothing, antiques (vintage style, but not vintage values!). I even have my own classic motorbike, and love to do some Swing dancing on weekends.

I play a lot of folk music, and never turn down a good old ceilidh or contra. My instruments are flute and guitar.

I’m a vegetarian and looove to cook yummy things for anybody who is willing to eat it ;) Also very passionate about sustainability and working to negate the effects of the climate crisis (I stopped flying a few years ago and now endure many long coach journeys and hitchhiking adventures, as trains in England are super expensive)

I love languages, old and wacky traditions, new food, good books, anything green, and learning!

Music, Movies, and Books

I volunteer in a bookshop so can provide lots of great book recommendations. My personal favourite is ‘Master and Margarita’, and in general I tend to stick with classic fiction, history, political/social theory, and a fair old bit of science. I’ve also a huge soft spot for Agatha Christie.

Music wise, I play flute and guitar. I play a lot of folk music and realllyy enjoy old jazz/swing music. I’m originally from Poland and listen quite a bit to Eastern European inspired music, but don’t get me wrong, I can listen to and enjoy almost anything that’s good :)
