I joined couchsurfing about 4 years ago, when I started travelling to Australia for a Gap Year. When I came back to Germany to start my university degree in Biology. Pretty soon, I realised that I really need to leave Germany again to explore the world. Thus, I finished my studies in Scotland and now I am living in Peru for a voluntary year. I really enjoy meeting people from all over the world, everyone has so many stories to tell and so many things to teach me. I feel like by meeting the most diverse types of people I am learning the most about life and about what I want to achieve in life ( whatever that might be...). I don´t have any clue as for what I might be doing the next few years, but for now I´m happy with exploring Peru, learning spanish and meeting the most wonderful people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because I found that for me both hosting and being hosted adds so much to my life. I love the exchange of cultures, cooking food together, picking up a few words of whatever language the other person might speak. It´s the best way to not only visit a coutry, but to dive in and learn. I remember when I was invited to this farm in the rainforest and everyone was sitting on a long table to eat dinner together and there was such a mixture of nationalities and the conversation was let in three different languages and somehow everyone still managed to be part of it.I thouht it was so cool how many different people can communicate together without understanding all the languages spoken.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don´t have a favorite book. But I love all books that make you thing and evaluate your life; books that make you change your perspective on something. As for movies, I´m not sure if I have one either. Maybe Captain Fantastic.
