About Me

My name is Alain Blättler, I come from Geneva (Switzerland) and I'm 25 years old. Graduated in 2016 in international relations and in Law in 2017, I decided to come in Berlin for one year to start my master in Law as an erasmus student at Humboldt Universität.
Apart from this, I love travelling, doing sport in general, meeting new people and mostly partying. For this last point I would need help beacause I don't know Berlin for the moment. Otherwise, I'm quiet a good cooker and I love children (got 2 nieces) so I would be glad to help you if needed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for a place to stay from the 19th to the 25th of October. I actually found a room for my stay untill July but the room is only available on the 25th. For the moment I'm staying at a friend's place, but I need to move on the 19th because she has friends visiting here and the flat is not large enough for everyones.

Music, Movies, and Books

Guy Ritchie's movies (Snatch, Lock, stock and two smoking bareels, Rock'n rolla...), Tarantino's movies (Pulp fiction, Django...) or classic movies like Forest gump and Full metal jacket. Watching series like Game of thrones and Peaky blinders at the moment. My favorite book is Charlie and the chocolate factory from Roald Dahl but I'm also interested in political and historical authors like Waltz, Mersheimer, Georges Orwell and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As I was 20 years old and after 10 month living in London, I decided to ride back to Geneva with my single speed bike.

Close to the end, in the east french region of Champagne-Ardennes, I arrived in a lost village in the middle of the country side. I was really disappointed because there was no place to sleep there, I was very tired and I already camped 3 days in a row. I needed a bed! Fortunately I fell on a cosy food truck selling pizzas in the middle of the street. The owner was a old French guy very funny and sympathic. I told him my story. He was quiet impressed by it and proposed to host me for the night. After a (very quick) thinking, I decided to accept his invitation and then he brought me to his home.

I would ever remember this night of the 1st of July 2012, because it was the final of the soccer world cup opposing Spain to Italy (3-0). I was really like "God in France", eating my pizza with mushrooms he kept for me and tastying my glass of pastis on the sofa watching the game on TV.

The following morning, he woke me up quiet early beacause he had to go to work. I was even more happy than the day before when I saw the breakfast he had prepared. Different pieces of bread to make toasts with marmelade and honey, some cereals, fruits and a good mug of chicorée to start the day nicely after having filled up my batteries! After that, I was really in a good shape and I took my bike to ride exactly 172km during that day!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach tennis, ice skating or sport training in general. I can also help in history, geography, law, international relations or french and spanish. Otherwise, I'm quiet a good cooker and I love taking care of childrens.
