About Me

I'm new to couch surfing and trying it as a way to make some new acquaintances.

I live between cultures and continents. I am a passionate writer, artist and human rights advocate and researcher. For the past ten years I've worked in Israel and Palestine in international development.

These days, I'm most passionate about mental health and technology (programming). I spend most my time working (its my passion) and my free time writing fiction, poetry and non-fiction. I also really love walking, visual art, architecture and food.

I have a deep love for people and places on several continents. I am on a personal mission to be satisfied with both closeness and distance, fulfillment and longing (ENTJ).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love learning and sharing from and with others. This is where innovative ideas and self-consciousness comes from! You will often find me carrying ideas from one culture to another and back again. I enjoy conversing with strangers, allies and "adversaries".

Music, Movies, and Books

I am quite passionate about music, come from a family of musicians and used to play more than 10 instruments. If you love music, share it with me!

I listened to Arabic, Hebrew and North Africa music predominantly for some time. Some better known artists are: Mariam Hassan, Bombino, Souad Massi, Yehuda Ravitz, Mohammaed Nouri, Julia Budrous, Bari Saharov, Mashrou' Leila, A-WA, Fairuz, UmKulthum, old Ofra Haza, Arik Einshtein, Shalom Hanoach ...

I'm trying to pick up some new American music, so I listen to KEXP. I tend to like alternative rock, indie music and acoustic numbers.

Film:
I love studying cinema and enjoy watching "The Story of Film: An Odyssey" and as many films as Mark Cousins mentions that I can get my hands on.

Books on my nightstand now:
"Tao of Pooh", HTML, CSS and Javascript text books, "The Agronauts", "White City, Black City Architecture and War in Tel Aviv and Jaffa," some Rumi, Mahmoud Darwish, and Yehuda Amichai.

Plays: To date, my favorite is Waiting for Godot. I want to read more. I prefer play reading in pairs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn / teach / share anything about:

psychology, social change, philosophy, technology (programming), digital design, social entrepreneurship, cross-cultural work, writing, poetry, dance, hiking, swimming

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can write you a personalized poem from our time together.
I am a good listener
I make delicious salads
I am very creative and can help you come up with ideas to solve social problems
I have had a pretty unique experience in Israel and Palestine, living closely with both peoples for 10 years. At this point, I'm also a part of both cultures, and a part of neither -- I'm a Third Culture kid! -- or an international, and I'd love to share that experience and meet kind, inquisitive, responsible people.

Maybe something else! Ask me :)
