Overview
About Me
I've always suffered from a serious case of wanderlust and a few years ago, after working for several years in an office job (which I did actually like very much), I couldn't take it anymore and quit to move to Brazil. My original plan was to stay one and a half years, I'm now going on 4. Needless to say, I've loved it here. I was looking for something different and I found it. My heart will now forever be divided in two, half Australian and half Brazilian. <3
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's something that I've known about for some time but never tried. I like hostels and haven't really considered any other options. This time when I was travelling in Brazil, I met several Europeans who recommended it for my upcoming trip so I decided to check it out. I think it'll be a great way to meet locals and get some insider tips and have some interesting conversations. I love those hostel chats that start at caipi hour and go until 3am.
Interests
Latin dancing - salsa, bachata, zouk, samba, sertanejo
Food - street food, spice, Michelin stars, bread, cheese, desserts, noodles, anything with duck or pork belly, fresh produce, markets, culturally typical dishes, new flavours
Board games - I love strategic board games such as Settlers of Catan, San Juan, 7 Wonders and Agricola. I also love cards but am hopeless at Poker.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Varied taste, especially if it's live. I mostly listen to latin music, rnb and covers (like live lounge).
Movies:
Current favourite movie (oh the shame) - Pitch Perfect
In general I like super hero movies, movies made from books and Pixar films
Books:
Currently reading - Totem and Taboo by Sigmund Freud
I really enjoyed the Song of Ice and Fire series. My reading taste is varied, I'll read anything even if I don't like it. I have an issue where I have to finish a book even if I'm not liking it so much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in Brazil has been pretty amazing and eye opening at the same time.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
* I could potentially help you learn latin dances like salsa, bachata and zouk
* Everyone on Couchsurfing seems to speak English, but I'm an English teacher. and could teach that. I could help practise Portuguese too or teach some basics.
* I carry some board games with me and can teach those too
Learn:
* If someone wants to teach me how to ride a bike properly that'd be aweomse
* How to use my dSLR properly
* Really want to improve my French
Share:
* Love of food. I love to help out in the kitchen and learn new recipes (my personal specialities are desserts and Asian dishes, I've also learned some pretty hearty Brazilian dishes)
