About Me

ABOUT ME

I hope they'd say I was full of joie de vivre, I am a good conversationalist and am very interested in people and what makes them tick. I'm curious about the world, engaged with life and I know that this isn't a dress rehearsal, this is real, right now.

PHILOSOPHY

Hurt no one. No such thing as a free lunch. Do unto others as you would have done to you. There's always room for cake. With love you can get through anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is a great way of connecting with people, in a fundamental and deep way. I love the stories I have been told, the customs I have learned about, jokes shared and friends made.

Interests

I love meeting new people and making friends. I like reading, the cinema, art, cooking (and eating) - I really enjoy cooking and eating with company. I love dancing and music and theatre.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Nick Cave. Love lots of music - Talking Heads, Bach, Rolling Stones, Nina Simone, TOM WAITS, Bob Marley, Franz Ferdinand, Plan B, NEIL YOUNG, Mozart, late Beethoven, James Brown, jeez, so much music.

Currently really loving Wes Anderson's films. Casblanca is my favourite film of all time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw the Taj Mahal by full moon, it looked like a beautiful jewel on the river.
Watched the sun rise over the Semlike River in Zaire whilst a lion roared in the distance.
Sat quietly with a silverback mountain gorilla sitting next to me, his hand touching mine, in his natural environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know what it is like to lose the person you love and to find a way to get on with life.
