ABOUT ME

I've always had an interest in international relations and different cultures. I majored in International Business in school and in general, I love exploring the world and am fortunate enough to have a job that enables me to do that. I love meeting new people and traveling the world and learning about other cultures. Outside of my small hometown in the USA, I've lived in Europe for 4 months during university and now live outside of one of my favorite cities, NYC!!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a firm believer that everyone should treat others the way they want to be treated, and it's important always keep an open mind. Also, in the grand scheme of things life is short and I would like to experience as much as possible. I know the world is beautiful and quite honestly I am never disappointed when I go to a new place, there is always so much to learn and explore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I studied abroad in the Spring of 2008 in Rome and I learned from some friends about the couchsurfing community. I've surfed in England and it was an amazing experience. I also met some great people in Dubai through the site as well as in Belgium. I really enjoy the camaraderie that comes with traveling and meeting new people and sharing my own culture and views.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed once before in England, and it was awesome!!! I also met a really great surfer when I visited Dubai, where he showed my friends and I around the city. I can't wait to surf more!!!

Interests

I'm from a small town in the mountains of pennsylvania, and I always dreamed about going to live in the city and see the world which is what I'm trying to do as much as I can now :) I also love to read, and cook (but like trying new foods even more. I also enjoy exercise and try to stay active, I run, bike, do yoga, etc...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: varies from rock, alternative, country, hip hop, electronic, house music, etc... basically everything (especially if I can dance to it)!!! I like to read when I have time while taking a break from work, always up for a good read so if you have any good recs, let me know!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love the water and I had the opportunity to scuba dive in Jamaica which was absolutely beautiful. It's a goal of mine to make it to the great barrier reef some day to scuba there.

I've also been to some breathtaking man-made sites like the Taj Mahal, the Pantheon, the Great wall of China, and they've been some really great experiences. However, I'm always shocked at how I feel in terms of feeling small in the grand scheme of the universe and time.

And I guess in general I just try and be the best person I can be.

I'm from a small town but I've had the opportunity to travel to several countries in Europe and Asia, I have yet to go to South America, or Africa.
