I am a 23 year old Canadian girl, currently in my last year of nursing school. I am passionate about travel, hiking and nature. Before beginning my program, I spent 6 months backpacking in Southeast Asia and since I have been able to take advantage of my semesters off to see more places. I spent this summer with my sister and a couple of others in a small RV road tripping through Alaska and Northern Canada. The north exceeded my already high expectations and I would love to return. After I graduate, I plan to work in rural communities throughout Canada as well as abroad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and learning about the area from locals. Some of my most memorable travel experiences have stemmed from a kind invitation into someones home. The first time I had the opportunity to stay with a local was in Thailand. At 19, I was ecstatic when a kind Thai girl in the plane seat next to me had offered me a bed in her home. It was a wonderful experience to meet her family, friends and learn about her culture. We still keep in touch and I value this international friendship that became possible due to her trusting invitation.

I have also had the chance to use couchsurfing a few times through a friend's account. I feel that staying in someones home is a very authentic way to experience a city and I would like to give others the same opportunity.
