About Me

Yo!

I am from Brazil and studied at Moscow in a physics university. I am in love with my life, I really like to meet new people, new cultures, new places and so I try to do it frequently. I usually search about many interesting subjects and see positive things about everything as well. I love music, arts, nature, movies, science and another things. I do think that life does not make sense if I don't try every day learn and help as much as possible. I am very open to new ideas and good conversations. By the way, if you are learning Portuguese, English, Spanish or even Russian I will be happy to help you with it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would answer that global warming, mono-culture, practices of waste consumption, genetically modified food, multinational corporations and a huge number of environmental and social issues would be more than enough reasons to motivate me of start travelling, sharing experiences and learning as much as possible. Although, on the other hand, my intention of helping to create a more sustainable and just world, my aim to inspire people that think in the same way and my admiration for the beauty of nature tend me to motivate me more than anything.

Albert Einstein used to say that time is an illusion. Personally I prefer to think that time is a countable exchange of energy with the environment. We are interacting daily with the outside and being influenced with numerous factors around us. When I moved to Moscow to study physics, I was introduced to a completely different atmosphere. It was like a new world. In my process of discovering this new world and being influenced with so many different things that I was used calling as "culture", I was learning a lot about me, and consequently, about the world itself.

We usually hear that it's painful to grow. I was growing when I discovered the growth of the disappearance of the Amazon. I was growing when realized the neglect with polluting and toxic gases. The neglect with natural resources and animals, considering them endless and dispensable. And more than the pain of growing, the constant desire to act grew in me.

Actions talk more than words. Therefore, with the desire for action came the first steps. I comprehended that it would be impossible to change the world in the next days. It's a process that needs to be felt. I began to put more and more into practice the constant saving of resources that I consumed. Rethinking, reusing and recycling have become constants in my vocabulary. From vegetarianism to freeganism, I fed myself on dreams. When I realized, I was no longer feeling part of the environment that I was living in and so I moved. I started travelling mostly hitchhiking and was introduced to amazing people and a great amount of projects and initiatives focused in sustainable, self-awareness and self-study.

On the last June I was given the opportunity to work as a volunteer in the permaculture course in the Vale da Lama (Portugal) and I felt in love with the project. It was in this place that I discovered that growing up is love. It was when I saw the work of so many people being done with so much compassion to the earth and with so much respect to nature that I decided to live travelling and meeting nice projects around the world. I understood that it would be more than some travel, but the life lesson, experiences, in which I could not miss the chance to try.

Time flies and we're the pilots. When I realized that the right time was now. Jump in was the only option.
