About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet new people and learn new things!

ABOUT ME

I'm friendly, easy going and generally have a smile on my face!

PHILOSOPHY

My favourite quote... pretty much sums up what I'm about I think:

"The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."
- Chris McCandless

Interests

I love the outdoors and generally I'm up for giving anything a go; I'm a keen climber, boulderer, walker, runner, cyclist... I don't profess to be the best at any of them, but I split my time among them all and it means I can just pick which ever takes my fancy when I get back from work or at the weekend and get the most enjoyment out of them!

I've also recently taken up guitar, photography and slacklining, so a few new things on the go too!

  • photography
  • guitar
  • outdoor activities
  • rock climbing

Music, Movies, and Books

Generally a pretty wide taste in all of the above!

Music tends to err towards folky, indie, with maybe a bit of rock thrown in. I like to hear other people's music too and hear new bands!

All time favourite film has to be Into the Wild, other than that I'll watch almost anything, try me!

Books vary aswell, some examples... Shadow of the Wind, John Grisham books, just finishing off The Book of Dave by Will Self, Mountaineering books eg. Learning to Breathe... the list goes on!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Field work on Helheim Glacier in Greenland
5 weeks working in Svalbard making friends with polar bears

Teach, Learn, Share

I've recently started teaching myself guitar, so if you play I'd be grateful for any tips! I'm also getting into photography and slacklining (I have a slack line and there're plenty of places to use it nearby, so if you want a go or can show me some tricks it'd be fun!).

I'm happy to take people climbing if you're keen, indoors or outdoors, I'd love to show you what I love doing!

I'm always open to learning bits of a language, and about different cultures.
