Hey there!!! ^^

My name is Alkistis,

It's an ancient greek name with a wonderful long myth behind it.
Once I was in Germany, a friend was joking about it's first syllables, saying that "Alkie" is used as an abbreviation of the word "Alkoholsüchtig", which means Alcoholic. I found it very funny at that time and I kept it, as an easier form for my multiculti-friends to remember or just to make fun with the fact that I do not even drink enough to praise my own nickname :P

So, what else about me!? I am an artist, which means that self expression is essential to me. I like drawing, dancing, listening to music, writing, reading, walking in the nature, learning languages and cooking. If that's too general for you, we could also discuss about the limitless variety and complexity that's like the salt and pepper of this life.
My current mission is to keep travelling, meeting new people and culturally educating myself - hopefully it will continue like this, as a lifelong purpose ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Completely left my comfort zone at 25:

- (Apart from the Erasmus semester in Perugia, Italy)
- Spend a semester in Indonesia, studying about traditional dance and music of West Sumatra :P
- Did an EVS (european voluntary service) in Cluj-Napoca, in Romania, for a year, working with minorities and children with disabilities in a hungarian kindergarden!
- Did an Interrail trip through middle-eastern Europe (7 countries in 2 weeks!) ^^
- Spent another semester working in a greek restaurant in Nuremberg, in Germany xD
- Worked as a personal assistant for people with disabilities and spinal cord injuries (tetraplegia) all around the UK!
- Currently studying Art Therapy in Berlin, living in a multiculti 10 people flat and life is busy, as we like it..!! ;) :D
