My name is Allan, and I am a 4th year student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, studying Psychology with an emphasis in family and couple counseling. One of my passions in life is working with kids and young adults. I have always been fascinated by the power of communication. The feeling of having an emotional understanding with another person is so rewarding to me. However, with kids, I get to explore and intuitively navigate through their imagination and creativity, challenging me to think just like them. Becoming a kid again is pivotal to the progression of the bond between an adult and a kid, and it is my favorite process! I also have a virtual spiritual shop called Highly Elevated Celestial Shop, where I turn second-hand and recycling materials into art, write poems + creative stories about people’s past lives/aura, edit pictures according to people’s auras, and make simple, colorful, and imaginative presentations about educational and psychological research studies about literally any topic!! I am an activist, and I donate 15% of my shop to charities who resemble my mission and alleviate the pain of the LGBTQIA+, Black, Latinx, Native American and any community who have been hurt and neglected by society. Lastly, I like makeup and wigs, so I will try to kindly ask if your home is LGBTQIA+ friendly :))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling, meeting new people, having stimulating conversations, and being one with nature are some of our biggest passions, and we would love the opportunity to not only learn from others through their own passions, but learn about ourselves through such experiences. We absolutely love contributing ideas that will serve as innovative and progressive ways to positively impact the surrounding community, and we also have an extensive level of experience as active listeners, mentors, and teachers who pride in teaching through effective and creative manners at our educational institution. As two college students motivated by creativity, professionalism, and meaningful relationships, our desire is to serve others through everyday tasks and inspire with our own narratives. While Couch-surfing in different places and learning about the surrounding community, it is especially important to respect the diversity and inherent differences of one another, while continuing to share parts of ourselves in a healthy way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Latin music! Any time I hear Latin music, I want to start dancing. My mom has taught me to dance Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, and Bachata. She is such an amazing dancer! I can also play the piano and sing a little bit so music has been in my life forever. I also love R&B and soul music! I a movie lover too. One of my favorite activities to do in the year is watch all new movies at the theater, critically analyze them, make a list of the greatest movies of the year, and place bets on which movie will get what Oscar. I am also a book worm and been loving motivational and self-improvement books lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was born and raised in El Salvador for the first 11 years of my life, and I would love to talk more about my country, culture, language, and traditions if you are interested.. I lived in a village called "El Paraiso" (Paradise), where springs and wells were my source of water, countless fruit trees and organic foods were my source of nutrition, and daily wilderness adventures were my source of entertainment. One of my favorite activities, in El Paraiso, was walking barefoot on a 3 hour hike against the current of the river, that surrounded the village, eating tropical fruit from random trees on my way to my destination, until inflating a tube from a trailer's tire, and riding the current all the way back home. I loved the environment I was raised in, and I often find myself daydreaming about my childhood, so I cannot wait to become one with nature again very soon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak Spanish and English fluently, and French at an intermediate fluency. During Covid-19, I wanted to help my community, and I decided to start giving free English and Spanish Lessons online. I, now, have more experience teaching, and I would love to teach anyone who is interested in learning a new language and more about my culture and Salvadorian traditions. I hope to learn more about every place I travel to from a local’s perspective! I hope we can share stories about our passed travels and connect in a deeper level!

During quarantine, I had a spiritual awakening, where a lot of my past trauma resurfaced and affected my mental stability. While learning, reading, and engaging in spiritual activities, I began to find the root of every trauma (blockage), and I healed them through meditation, crystal therapy, Reiki healing, and anything to do with energy. I devoted so much time and effort to these practices but it was so worth it! Every day I wake now, I feel such blissful and joyous sensations about my life, the world, people, and simply anything I used to normally take for granted on a daily basis. Doing so, made me become more present in the moment and learn so much about myself. Thus, making me very intuitive and even spiritually gifted. I can see people’s auras, feel their emotions, and even dive into their subconscious mind to navigate through the root of their traumas, facilitating their healing, with consent and permission, of course. Through my professional education, I have also learned so much about the human brain and behavior, helping learn effective exercises I use to target the accurate solutions to remove blockages. Now, I am in the process of creating a life coach program, using my stories and strategies I compiled throughout my Spiritual Awakening, Psychology, and medical experience in hopes to heal and bring light to the world!
