About Me

ABOUT ME

I am fairly easy going and easy to get along with.

I feel I can hold my own in most intellectual conversations but also now how to chill out and not be too serious all the time.

I would say that i have a spontaneous wild side, it can be very hit and miss based on my company, so i may appear reserved or outgoing although don't expect that either will be too consistent, I have a tendency to surprise.

PHILOSOPHY

You get out what you put in.
I believe that everyone has a good nature, a smile and a handshake can open many doors if you are willing to be friendly, respectful and walk through them.
To me, every person has a story, and a facade, I like to wait to see the person behind the stereotype, the race, the gender.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm interested in making friends, sharing my time, experience and knowledge of the world and travels with everyone I meet, getting a view of their own travels and adventures and generally sharing a laugh.

I will started travelling internationally for much of 2014. Although this didn't include couch surfing because I was often with people I knew, I did make time to meet people and check out the odd events in cities I went through. As I settle more in Europe and with a place in London I am more open to sharing adventures, finding couches, backpacking, getting drinks and having conversations with everyone else in the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent a few weeks in my own country meeting and hanging out with people from Couchsurfing, was a great experience.

I've also bumped into and chatted with couch surfers all over the globe in hostels and some meets. I haven't been as active yet but this is something I am starting to get back into as it's resulted in some great friendships.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find music to be like food, anything has has had time, effort and love put into it can usually meet my tastes if my mood is right. There are the few I don't love on but can often appreciate. I'm find I'm always being surprised by new music.

My favourite book it 'The Redemption of Althalas.' I discovered this book when a German girl was reading it staying with my family. I don't read a whole lot of fiction, but what I do is often in fantasy.

Don't even get me started on moves... I'm a movie buff, I cant tell you the actors, but I know the plots and far too many lines. I will most likely get any movie humour you can throw out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have done to date was making the decision to sell my home, leave my friends and family behind, grab a backpack and head into the world. What started as a possible (I'll see you in perhaps 6 months has turned into over 2 years of unforgettable experiences and in my mind I am only just getting started.)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a few tricks with a DSLR however have had a few stolen over the years and am mostly running around with a go-pro, but if you have a joy of media, I can possibly help you out there.

I'm a bit of a Mr. fix it and along with cooking, and mixing of entertaining cocktails after years of bar experience, I'm good in a pinch for a dinner party.

When it comes to learning, I couldn't possibly tell you what I want to know, because I don't know everything I don't know yet, I haven't even began to understand what I don't know, so every day is something new to learn, and in every new place I go I expect that to continue.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I travelled for a year with an almost never say no to opportunities that came my way, not working the whole time. This had a fundamental change on how I seen life, people, money, the world. I can cook, I'm not to bad at DIY and love am handy with a creative idea or touch.
