My family home is in London and all of my extended family is from Rep of Ireland, so I have two home countries!

I love all things outdoor - Hiking, rock climbing, surfing, motos and bikes and food growing / gardening.

My passion is food growing / permaculture. Money in fact DOES grow on trees! meaning all our medicine, food, clothes, building materials primarily come from trees/plants.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet like-minded people and an affordable way to travel over a longer period.

I find, being able to give as well as receive is a very rewarding way to live and gives more meaning to life.

Experiencing a place with locals with local knowledge is much more rewarding than through the typical tourist routes.

Interests

Rock climbing while living in Cataluña was life changing and so rewarding.

I really enjoy the ocean and was thrilled to try "bigger wave" body boarding in La Palma for the first time in 2015, would love to learn more surfing.

Hiking is a wonderful thing, my biggest walk was from London to Wales, following a compass west (no phone GPS) and wild camping along the way. It took me 10 days to cover approx. 250km. Unique experience!

My main focus of late is learning everything I can about food growing, primarily through Permaculture.
I've almost finished a 180sqm Mini food forest garden here in London, consisting of cold hardy fruit trees/ shrubs, herbs and perennial vegetables ... As Bill Mollison says “Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple.”

Music, Movies, and Books

Coming from London I love Jungle/ DnB! but I enjoy all generes except "Cheese!"

I'm a practising Buddhist (Tibetain) of many years so have enjoyed reading a lot of Dharma books.

I love all movies except, Over Action and Over romantic! :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A solo walk across England from my doorstep in London, to Wales, wild camping and using only a ball compass to navigate (which was actually quite easy - just follow "West" the whole way! ;-)) .

I use to be an English Teacher in Barcelona for two years (CELTA qualified from International House BCN). I've taught a range of classes including primary school, adolescentes!! and adults in Barcelona.

My passion is gardening and food growing and love to get creative wherever possible.
