About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live large.
ABOUT ME
I love sewing, gardening and public radio. I find rejuvenation in the forest and feel that is our obligation to take care of natural areas.
I have a tendency to do what I want within reason and if I set my heart on something, consider it done. I'm afraid that might get me in trouble one day.
PHILOSOPHY
I think that there is something to learn from every person you meet and every situation you find yourself in. I find that it's easiest to do this when you're completely broken down emotionally and you have nothing to depend on but the people around you. It's in those times, when it seems like the world is falling down around you, that you want to quit, but those are also the times that you look back on knowing how much you've grown.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, surfing, telling everyone I know. The usual.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love couchsurfing! I haven't participated too much, but the times I have have been wonderful. Without couchsurfing, I never would have met the wonderful folks in Anchorage who helped me survive my five-month stint in the AK (which I loved!!)!
Interests
Anything outside. I love to rock climb and I've recently picked up whitewater kayaking. I'm also completely obsessed with fire (don't get me started...), sewing and cooking.
I've always wanted to go skydiving (check!), complete and Ironman (longgg way off) and learn how to ice climb (check!)!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a fan of classic rock and americana. Nashville's Station Inn has the best bluegrass jam in the entire world.
Movies are tough. Some all-time favs: 'Singin In The Rain,' 'A River Runs Through It,' 'The Graduate,' and 'Newsies.'
I can never read just one book at a time. Right now "Food Matters," "The Sacredness of Questioning Everything" and "Smile When You're Lying" are dominating my bedside table. If you've never picked up Bill Carter, do it now.
I pretty much have a copy of Outside Magazine or National Geographic Adventure with me at all times.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fire tornadoes top the list
