Overview
About Me
I see myself as a citizen of the world because of my mixed roots and because of my interest in different cultures and their perception of (the way of) life, of which I am eager to learn from. I love to implement thoughts, ideas, and practices - that benefit me and the people around me - from these cultures in my daily life for the benefit of self-development.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In Couchsurfers I hope to find like-minded people regarding traveling and their wish to meet people from different cultures and various parts of the world. I love to share with and learn from each other and show the world we can live as one.
Interests
My life is about exploring the world, to see the most beautiful corners of this planet, to absorb new cultures and to learn new languages. Understanding our place in the universe stands - in my humble opinion - with continuous gaining knowledge about history and astronomy and to exchange thoughts about it with likeminded people. Yoga, meditation and whole foods to feed my mind, body, and soul help me to understand my place on this marvelous blue dot and find peace within.

Music, Movies, and Books
Like many, I have a broad interest in music, from 60's to 90's and from ambient to drum 'n bass, but I grew up with and therefore especially love Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. Some of the movies I like are Inception and The Intouchables but the Studio Ghibli movies really take me away! I've just read the City of Joy by Dominique Lapierre, which is truly brilliantly written. At this moment I am reading Search Inside Yourself from Google's Jolly Good Fellow, also known as Chade-Meng Tan, which I love very much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I've done is taking a 10-Day Vipassana Meditation course to learn the basics of the ancient technique of insight meditation in the tradition of S.N. Goenka. It was a profound experience of self-reflection and self-development so I took the course again, twice. I would really recommend people who are interested in self-development and/or who are studying psychology to take this course to learn about the workings of the mind of themselves and others.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a daily practitioner of both meditation and yoga, I can teach you the basics of some of their traditions and tell you something about how I live a vegan lifestyle. Personally, I would love to learn anything that I don't know since learning anything new will enrich a life. I'm looking forward to sharing knowledge, skills, and experiences with like-minded people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you're interested, I can share my travel experiences and my experiences of living in other countries and cultures. I'm also keen to share my ideas on life since I like to discuss life with others to enrich each other and to broaden each other's view. As a vegan, I can share my vegan cooking skills ranging from the Arab kitchen to the Indian kitchen, and from the Western kitchen to the Asian kitchen. Furthermore, I would love to share my skills and knowledge about meditation and yoga to benefit one's life.
