Friendly, adventurous traveler. Quiet, respectful, and flexible house guest. I love bold coffee and conversations. I love weirdos. I love stories. Tell me some! I am good at cuddling cats and dogs on couches. No allergies! I will roll around in fur. I do not smoke, drink, or use drugs. I love couches of all kinds!

Traveling on a budget. Wanting to live as close to the likeness of a gypsy mystic as I possibly can. I also like to meet awesome people with interesting stories who can tell me things about themselves and the cities that they live in.

音乐、电影和书籍
Music: A preference for lyrical and poetic genius - Leonard Cohen, Simon and Garfunkel, Gravediggaz and related Wu Tang off-shoots, Pink Floyd, David Bowie... Social Justice themed music (punk rock, gospel, soul): Dead Kennedys (Jello Biafra, ect.), Suicidal Tendencies, Body Count, Wendy O Williams and the Plasmatics, X Ray Specs, Alice Bag, Pussy Riot, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, BAD BRAINS (!), Government Issue - Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Mahalia Jackson, Alberta Hunter, Nina Simone, James Brown. Also - Fishbone, The P-Funk, Howlin' Wolf, Jonathan Richman, Iggy Pop, The Velvet Underground, Cat Power, Minor Threat, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Ella Fizgerald, SUN RA (!!!), Serge Gainsbourg, Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Bukka White, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Diamanda Galas.
Movies: My favorite film of all time is Apocalypse Now mostly because of the cinematography/editing. I tend to accidentally run into films at independent theaters or Film Festivals or through friends, so I don't follow particular directors very well. I have seen quite a few Woody Allen and Wes Anderson films due to those usually being the only films worth watching on a mainstream cinema screen. Otherwise, I try to stay away from big movie houses and by virtue of that I've seen a few David Lynch Films (Elephant Man, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, and The Interview Project (that was online)) as well as a few John Waters films and I've seen John Waters live a few times - I love him as a public personality, though admittedly I should watch more of his films than I have. A few of the more impactful Documentaries that I can remember seeing are: 'And Everything is Going Fine' (Spalding Grey Documentary), 'The Genius Within - The Inner Life of Glen Gould', 'The Poot' (a silent documentary about the making of Persian rugs - mostly enjoyed for the vibrant cinematography), 'Germans and Jews' (a documentary about the growing population of Jewish people in Germany and how they and the ethnic Germans reconcile the German history of antisemitism and the Holocaust in their modern coexistence - it was strikingly and somehow surprisingly uncomfortable and therefore provocative, but it did give some sense of hope toward progress for the future). I also love (like a typical dreamy American) classic Disney - I can't help it, it was childhood. But, Fantasia in particular was my favorite Disney film because I was swept away by the contrast to other film's I'd seen and the aesthetic beauty of the animation. I've seen some Japanese Horror films that made me quite happily uncomfortable, but I honestly can't remember the names of those films now. I'm jonesing for something new in the way of film, so feel free to help me along in my path of discovery if you have additional recommendations - particularly in the vein of art house or experimental cinema of which I know zilch! It's not easy for a wanderer to stumble on these things - sometimes one has to look more, but I just haven't unfortunately.
Books: Non Fiction and poetry are my favorite genres. Much like films, I stumble into books depending on which way the wind takes me. I love going to independent or used book stores, particularly those that are well known for their cultural influence. I've navigated bookstores in Raleigh/Durham, NC, Charlottesville, and Richmond, VA, DuPont Circle, DC, NYC, San Francisco, and I'd like to add more to my list. I am a bibliophile and I love attaching my own stories to my acquisition of books. They are often personal mementos of my travels and experiences in life.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Blazing through life as a perpetual wanderer and loner while acquiring a variety of eccentric acquaintances on certainly more than one occasion (but in a general sense, it's been one pretty amazing journey so far).
教,学,和分享
Teach - I am an expert at nothing... however, I can hold an intelligent conversation and love it, and also muse about a variety of topics that are of no practical importance whatsoever! All of this can be done over coffee in the early morning or in the late evening, I am flexible!
Learn - Teach me all the things!!!
Share - I can share/swap life stories (I have a few)... I can also make sandwiches!
