About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking for unique experiences in new places with warm, open people. Soon, we hope to return the favor and provide a temporary home for our fellow wanderers.
ABOUT ME
Allie- I am an undergraduate philosophy student and should be completing my degree this spring. Although I do not study music in school really, I play the cello in the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and love the hell out of orchestral music. After school I should be departing for the Peace Corps in September for a Girls Education program in Africa.
Elizabeth (Ebie) - I'm in my 5th year of college, majoring in Philosophy and Political Science, and putting off "real life" as long as humanly possible. Next year, I plan on traveling to the Karagwe region of Tanzania to learn about sustainable development and international justice. Eventually I want to ponder for a living and work on changing the world.... On the lighter side, I love to read, sing, go to music festivals, hang out in seedy bars, bask in warm weather and the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, drink too much coffee, and occasionally play very outdated video games.
We have been friends since high school and are currently traveling to Montreal together for a philosophy conference to learn about Phenomenology, Existentialism, and new people!
PHILOSOPHY
Live life to the fullest - You create who you are and what you want out of life.
Learn from everything - The world is as small as your mind. Every day should be a quest to expand beyond your immediate experience.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Allie has hosted several Couchsurfers and is currently living in Stonepetal mansion in Huntington, WV with a group of fellow students who have been hosting Couchsurfers and working with the Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) for 3 years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ebie: The statue of David.
This summer I saw and crawled around some amazing megalithic passage tombs at Bru Na Boinne, County Meath, Ireland.
Allie: Spent time building a school in Jamaica on a service trip where I lived with an incredible Jamaican family!
Teach, Learn, Share
We both are interested in learning foreign languages, especially French!
Ebie: I can and will spend hours talking to you about any area of philosophy, world politics, religion, sociology, and literature. I love vegetarian cooking and will either show you recipes or just cook you some delicious food.
I am honestly interested in almost anything.. But, I would particularly like to learn more about art (and see your work if you're an artist!), countries I haven't traveled to, guitar, quantum physics, and how to fix my bike.
Allie: Enjoys a good discussion of just about any type, and is especially interested in different types of ethics. I have not yet taught cello, but would love to try after fourteen years of playing. I would love to learn more about music, and share in different cultural experiences. Dancing and hiking are two of my favorite past times, so I would love to share in gettin down on the floor, or spending many hours out in the woods, no matter where it is.
Also, I can cornrow surprisingly well.
