About Me

CURRENT MISSION (updated June 2018)

Redefining the term "rich" by pursuing (the unexplainably elusive but unbelievable fulfilling, pure and unadulterated) life experiences.

After quitting my engineering job in 2014 I've been on a series of adventures, living life to the fullest, and finding where I fit into this crazy world.

2017 was quite a year. I spent the summer helping to build an off grid timber frame house while living in a cabin in the woods. Once summer ended I went to South America for 2.5 months.

Currently I am road tripping in western Canada, initially to take care of some business, then to live free and roam the mountains, open to whatever opportunities come my way.

ABOUT ME

Life is truly amazing ~ I am grateful everyday to be alive :) ~ Travelling, especially long term no strings backpacking, was the most eye-opening experience of my life. Now I'm transitioning back to society, to finding a way to make a living by doing something I'm passionate about.

My main motivation in life is learning and growing. I am philosophical, care deeply about the environment and am interested in alternative ways of living that are sustainable and community-oriented.

I am a fairly quiet guy and tend to avoid loud places such as bars and clubs. I enjoy casual conversations over a drink at home or on a mountaintop. I can discuss philosophy and ideas all day long - try me.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn - Grow - Inspire

I'm a nomad, ascetic, a wandering soul ~
On a fateful journey, figuring out my role ~
Seeking new experiences, near and far ~
Linked only by night sky, moon and star ~
Connecting with wonderful people and places ~
Communing with nature and open spaces ~
I will not stop, pause, stray or tire ~
In my quest to travel, love and inspire ~

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately right now I cannot host, and am hoping to start attending events again soon to meet some people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been Couchsurfing since 2011. I've hosted, surfed, organized events, and participated in several.

I Couchsurfed lots through Europe for 10 months, some in the US, a few times in India, Nepal and Europe again. Went on an overnight trip with CSers into the Canadian Rockies, making and staying in houses made of snow!

Interests

I have a first world problem - I've got too many passions and ambitions, there's just not enough time for them all! Here are just a few: cooking, reading, documentaries, yoga, DIY, nice walks, brewing beer.

Anything outdoors, that expands my brain, and gets me out of my comfort zone! Specifically? Hiking, camping, cycling, running, skiing, thinking, travelling, etc.
