About Me

I'm a very open minded, trustworthy person who wants to learn everything about everything! After graduating from University, I got a working holiday visa in Australia and lived there for about a year--I got back to the states a few months ago.

I discovered something while living abroad... Some people view traveling as a sort of young/immature thing to do or assume you're running away from your life, but it's so much more than that. You see that the world is so much bigger than your perspective on it, you discover how strong you are and how independent you can really be...and how much you don't know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't know why I just recently discovered this site, but it's awesome. I'm in the process of moving to Austin (just got a job there) and don't know anyone in the area! I'm hoping to meet some new people and, once I get settled, host some fellow travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love connecting with people through music. I associate different genres with certain periods of my life. From a Styx concert when I was 9 to an Alt-J concert last year. My taste in music has a wide variation and I love discovering new songs/artists.

I refuse to buy a kindle because I love the smell and tactile feel of holding a book... My favorite Christmas present every year is a new book from my dad. I've recently gotten into audiobooks which I used to despise, but they're perfect for road trips!

I have always loved horror movies. I don't understand why, but they're my favorite--much to the dismay of my friends.
