Ahhh what to say about me. Well first off, my name is Alley. I am from Ventura, California where the sun is shining, the beach is warm, and the food is great. I am currently a Lifeguard along the Southern California coast and love every second of it.

I love all sorts of sports and appreciate fitness. Some activities I like to do are hiking, cross country running, swimming, biking (yet I have not done a triathlon... yet), backpacking, yoga, surfing, free diving, anything beach, Frisbee and much much more. Can't think of anymore at the moment but I am almost positive that we will manage to find something we both love to do. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because during my travels, I don't want to fall into the tourist trap. I really want to experience a new place through the eyes of a local. I feel this is how to truly experience a country/ culture the right way. Also, I love meeting new people and hearing their stories (who they are and what they are about). Learning from people and trading knowledge holds more value than reading books, going on a tour, or even watching the travel channel.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for music, I like anything from Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" to NOFX's "Linoleum" to Flume & Chet Faker's "Drop the Game." As you can see, I like most music.

Live music is one of my favorite things, I have been to many concerts including Neil Young, Coachella, 3 day reggae festival (could not breathe with all the smoke), and many more.

If I can bring back anyone who has passed to see them live, I would be stuck between Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Freddie Mercury. All are amazing artists who I believe would put on a great show. If I could bring a band back together to see them, I would see Rage Against the Machine or No Doubt.

The only music I don't like would have to be what's on the radio or on the tops charts now a days. I like old school rap such as 2pac, Dr, Dre, and Biggie. But I have a hard time listening to the newer stuff.

As for movies and books, I don't read much. I'm sorry to say it because I think reading is so great, but I have a hard time sitting down to read as I am always running about. I'm sure I could make time so if you have anything to recommend, I would be delighted to give it a chance :) Movies, I CANNOT watch horror movies. I am the biggest baby in the world. I do like action movies and funny movies. I am a huge Quentin Tarantino (who isn't) and I LOVE Austin Powers. If you like movies, snacks and movie nights are some of my favorite things.
