Overview
About Me
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, USA. This may not sound that adventurous, but I chose to go to pursue my bachelors in computer science in Kentucky at a tiny liberal arts school, Centre College. I picked this school for a few reasons, one of which was its outstanding travel abroad program. Over the past year I have had the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in India, go on a 9 day road trip up the East coast of the US hitting NYC, Philly, DC, and Rayleigh, and backpack around Isle Royale for 9 days. I've got the travel bug really bad. I am hoping to add to my adventures... can you help me?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I will be spending studying abroad in England from August 2017 to December 2017. My plan is to fly into Europe a few weeks before school starts and visit some of the cities on my bucket list: Vienna, Prague, Stockholm, Helsinki, and Copenhagen are just a few.
Throughout the fall I am hoping to take weekend trips to which ever city in Europe has someone willing to host me.
Interests
I love love love to run, especially around new places. Running and rollerblading are great ways to learn what's around.
If you know of any good hiking spots or skiing locations in any of the cities I am visiting, please let me know! Forest bathing is one of the best ways to unwind and get back to your roots (pun intended).
Favorite wine: Sauvignon Blanc
Favorite beer: always changing but you can't go wrong with a Belgium wheat beer

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am an advocate for CASA (court appointed special advocates). CASA is a non-profit organization that provides legal support for abused and neglected children. As an advocate, I have pledged to listen, speak for, and stand up in court to represent my case's best interest. To fight without ceasing until my case is able to find a safe, permanent, loving home. By acting as their voice, I help children to overcome their past, heal emotionally, and have the chance of a brighter future that is filled with hope.
