About Me

I'm a little bit surprised it's taken me this long to hear about the Couchsurfing community, considering I've been doing couch surfing since I was really young! I just graduated with a degree in Psychology and English Language from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, but I grew up all around the world, including Calgary, Seattle, Beijing, Honolulu, and Seoul. Traveling, learning, and exploring have always been a part of my life, especially when it comes to finding hidden gems of local foods.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think the next chapter in my life will be pretty transitory! Now that I've graduated, I'm hoping to travel, write, and learn about cooking in different parts of the world. As much as I need time to myself once in a while, I absolutely love meeting new people and swapping stories, perspectives, and tips.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a rainy day in February, I climbed Angel's Landing in Zion National Park, Utah! The first 80% of the hike wasn't bad; there were a bunch of switchbacks and some steep paths, but it was the last 20% that really tested my perseverance. I'm not much of a hiker, but I knew that I wanted to climb Angel's Landing. The last 45 minutes of scrambling and holding on to chains for dear life found me at the edge of a thousand foot cliff face. The views were incredible, and I was pretty proud of myself that day for conquering my fears and pushing my physical ability.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can whip up a meal for you like nobody's business! I've been cooking for friends and family for years, and I love having people over for dinner often. I've got some old school Korean recipes passed down from my grandma up my sleeve, but I've also been testing out good ol' Southern cornbread, spicy jambalaya, and beer battered fish tacos.

Austria, Cambodia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Philippines, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
