ABOUT ME

hey, i'm allison, living out here in the mississippi delta and doing my best to educate as many little kids as i can. we have had some AWESOME couch surfers. in fact, i don't think we've ever had one that disappointed. i've also surfed just a bit myself (usually while i am out chasing concerts). i've lived all over the place and i'm doing my best to meet as many cool people as possible!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

we are happy to open up our big house to people who are interested in seeing

--great catfish!!
--crazy cultural experiences... often related to blues music and catfish!!
--we love to show people around and introduce them to this crazy place called the mississippi delta

i've also surfed around myself and had a blast. i'm very low-maintenance and love to sit around and talk about books, movies, music, whatever. also happy to sing for my supper (in the form of playing the piano, not actually singing)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

we have had some amazing couch surfers at our house in mississippi!! i'm hoping to have some adventures on my own and some kind souls that will be able to host me :o)

Interests

i spend a lot of time chasing concerts around and trying to find good music wherever i can. i'm even doing an after school program for my first graders! other than that, i work a lot, and talk incessantly about my first graders. i own a million books and generally carry at least one around with me at any given moment.

alt country, great songwriters (john prine, townes van zandt, robert earl keen, todd snider, and of course bob dylan). i've seen guy clark two times in the last year and hope to see him many more times.

books - no way to encapsulate this. let's just say i have my fair share of wordsworth, salinger, faulkner, chekhov, and feminist lit

traveled all around - including but not limited to japan, france, germany, mexico, brazil, jamaica, belize, guatemala, and even terrifying places like greenwich, ct and leitchfield, ky.
