I will try anything once.

In 2017 I've tried surfing, wakeboarding, multi-day hike (five days on the Wild Coast, SA), advanced board games, Psy-Trance music festival, oysters, parkour, a month of only using cash, seeing a scary movie in theaters, talking my way into getting backstage of a musical, Virtual reality glasses, kissed an alpaca, received the kiss/sting of a jellyfish, and I hope there is more to come!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

No travel guide will tell it better than locals. I want to meet new people of all ages and cultures. It's why I moved to a village for two years. (Also because I'm passionate about education.) My favourite memories from traveling are the people I meet. My mom always reminded me growing up, "Everyone has a story." I love to hear people's stories, and I think Couchsurfing will produce some great ones.

Books: My favourite Shakespeare is Othello.
I enjoy lots of teaching books (Harry Wong, Ron Clark, Rafe Esquith, Doug Lemov) Working my way through the Magic Tree House series with my learners- absolutely great for young readers to grow into readers for life!

Movies: I have a goal every year to watch 100 movies I've never seen. Some of my recent favourites: A Dog's Purpose, Kubo and the Two Strings, Dope
My favourite recommendation: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

If I could be on any reality show, I'd want to go on Jeopardy, but the initial test for an audition is very difficult. I also dreamt of competing on Amazing Race, but I recently learned they will not accept Peace Corps volunteers due to their cultural experience.

Flamenco dancing in Spain, Bachata and Salsa in Dominican Republic, Sokkie in South Africa, Marinera in Peru, Contra and Lindy Hop and sky dancing/diving in US, as well as Ballroom in Alaska. I want to dance my way around the world!

Cooking (my favorite is Asian cuisine but I also adore Mexican), Dancing (Latin, ballroom, swing, zumba, etc.) Languages: English, Spanish, Sepedi
If you ever want to live in a village, I can offer some advice (how to keep the cockroaches out, how to bucket bathe, etc) I'm fairly decent at trivia so if you're​ looking for a team member for trivia, I'm keen. Did you know "Made in China" stickers are made in South Korea?
