Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I studied abroad in New Zealand from January to June 2009. I was with a large group from Boston University and enjoyed representing the southeast US by being the only Carolina Girl on the trip. As a new couch surfer, I loved meeting tons of people who call the beautiful Aotearoa home. I learned a ton about the kiwi life and culture and think Couch Surfing was a big part of my traveling success. I did a photography project on couch surfing for my digital photography class and loved trying to encapsulate what I learned about or from the people I have met in my travels.
Now I'm back home in North Carolina and would love to meet new people who love to travel the world and learn about all life has to offer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met a lot of really unique and interesting people throughout new zealand! From farm stays to college flats to quaint homes in sleepy towns. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming, I hope you can all come visit me in the states sometime!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I've done is participate in an Outward Bound Course in the midst of North Carolina's Appalachian Mountains. I spent 27 days in the woods with 13 other people. We hiked, mountain climbed and white water canoed. Now on beautiful mornings, I often wish I could return to those woods.
